Recess becoming nothing more than a mere memory?

when i was in elementary we had 15 minutes in the morning and in the afternoon and 30 minutes after lunch. that was in the 90s. i dont know how much time they get now but i think they are cutting out recess so they can spend more time learning. which in my opinion defeats the purpose. kids need a break from the books or they just get sick of them and then i think they will learn less!
